Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment is a program designed to offer qualified students an opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. These credits may help students get a head start in their education before graduating high school.

• High school students may enroll in GenesisU for dual enrollment credit.
• High school students may only enroll if it does not interfere with their high school studies.
• Dual enrollment students, by definition, have not yet graduated from high school, and thus are not required to submit the documentation of high school graduation or equivalent which is required of other students. Rather, they are admitted on the basis of a signed letter of approval from their parent(s) or guardian(s) granting permission and verifying that taking college courses will not interfere with their high school education.
• Acceptance to GenesisU does not automatically mean you are admitted to a degree program. Students that are accepted are done so provisionally and are not considered fully matriculated students until they have successfully graduated high school.
• Students may be restricted to limited courses and a limited pace of completion. Core/Major courses will generally be restricted to high school graduates.
• Acceptance of Genesis University Credits: Acceptance of credits from Genesis is up to the receiving institution. A student who anticipates transferring to another institution should first contact the other institution to determine whether or not their credit hours will transfer. Policies governing the transfer of credit vary greatly from school to school.

Dual enrollment students should generally meet the following criteria:

• Have a high school grade point average of 2.5 or an average of 75%.
• May be required to successfully complete a placement exam.
• Authorization of parent or guardian.
